Positive Affirmations Lead To Self Esteem Inspired Princess Book

Disappointment turns to appreciation as Lorraine learns how really special her birthday present can be.  Find out how the author demonstrates the need for positive affirmations.

Where did you get the inspiration to write the princess book series?

The storybook is based on an affirmation taught to me by my grandmother. When I was six years old I became a ward of the state of Illinois. Her way of keeping me encouraged was by teaching positive affirmations to boost my self esteem . The coloring book and journal are based on the storybook and my camp girls actually inspired me to release those to the public.

Briefly, tell us about your princess book projects including the coloring and activity book.

The storybook features a character named Lorraine. She's turning eight years old and she's taught the princess affirmation. The journal encourages girls to set goals and speak things into existence. The coloring book features black career queens and princesses with varies natural hairstyles. All to teach girls the importance of self-love, planning, and positive speaking.

What has been your reader's reactions to your books?

Parents tell me that their girls find encouragement in the book. They've also boosted confidence

How has your merchandise/clothing line helped to increase book sales?

Actually, the books bring sales for the apparel. They were released together but often when someone comes looking to buy a book they'll pick up a tee.

Did your illustrator also create your t-shirt designs?

My illustrator is my niece TaChina Lee. She's a Chicago native currently in Virginia. My apparel design concept was created by me and several freelance graphic artists from varies cities.

Tell us about the Girl's Camp?
